Clinical Focus

Our work is focussed on several key clinical subgroups, in particular, hepatitis virus infection, alcoholic liver disease, fatty liver disease, and autoimmune liver conditions, all of which can trigger chronic liver inflammation and promote oncogenesis.

Our clinical work interfaces with key research strengths in many of these areas, focussed on understanding immune regulation in liver disease, on the role of dendritic cells in regulating local immune responses in the liver, on the immunobiology of hepatitis virus infection, and on mechanisms underlying cell-mediated damage in the liver. We have a number of related clinical trials developed from these approaches.
